Growing Up with Kodak Digital Cameras
Steve Haehnichen's first digital camera was a KODAK DC20, which he
actually got free with the purchase of a laptop computer about several
years ago. "I was always skeptical about digital photography, I like
film, and I have a whole bag of 35 mm camera gear. But, getting this
camera gave me the opportunity to play with the technology." He started
using the camera for point-and-shoot snapshots, got into using some
of the image editing tools and "got hooked."
After giving his younger sister the DC20 Camera, Haehnichen purchased
a DC40 and sold it once the Kodak
DC120 Camera became available. "It was a beautiful camera, with
embedded optics, manual controls, threaded lenses. Just was a great
camera," he said. Next he purchased a KODAK
DC210.
Today, Haehnichen is touting the scripting capabilities of his fifth
Kodak Digital Camera - the DC260
Zoom Camera. "I've been waiting for digital cameras to go the
computer direction, with a real operating system. I've always written
scripts for web pages and such, so this was exciting." He says he
bought the camera as soon as it hit the shelf at the local CompHKA
store.
