Amazing Friends and Family with Digital Pictures

Scott Bell

While Scott Bell awaits the results of his bar exam, he is taking pictures, lots of pictures, of his family and friends. And, although he does own a 35 mm camera, he is definitely focused on his new KODAK DC260 Zoom Digital Camera.

"I like the convenience of digital photography," explained Bell. "I like the ability to review my pictures on the spot and delete the ones that don't come out the way I like. Plus, I'm kind of a gadget guy."

The DC260 is his third digital camera. He has already owned a Sony Mavica and a Fuji MX700, but he was looking higher resolution for better results.

"It's cool. It's got great color and the image has fabulous saturation. But, more than anything else, I love the user interface and the control," said Bell. He often experiments with focus and aperture settings to get just the right effect. He adds that the level of fine-tuning available on the DC260 is reminiscent of a 35 mm camera. But, more than anything else, Bell is a big fan of the innovative scripting feature.

"I use the Start-up Script to automatically set the camera to single spot focusing," explained Bell. "The Details Script, developed by fellow DC260 enthusiast Steve Haehnichen, is really helpful. It shows me the focus distance, zoom setting, shutter speed, and f stop settings. So, if I take a picture and I don't like how it turns out, I can look at the settings and make the kind of adjustments I need."
